A New Year and a New Race Season Happy New Year followers! Team Muroya is working hard on modifications to our race plane here in New Zealand. Unfortunately we can not give you the details but all will become clear at the first race in 2 months time!.... Yoshi came in to late spring weather in Auckland from late Autumn in Japan and we assembled the plane and carried out test flights for 3 days. Now the hard work begins on some exciting ideas for next season. Watch this space! NEXT Well, Qualifying is over and we are in lucky 13th position again! .... NEXT Unfortunately all practice sessions in the race box.... NEXT Flying delayed all morning due to low cloud over the race area.... NEXT Today was the first day of practice "in the box".... NEXT The TRW (temporary runway) was opened this morning.... NEXT Team Coordinator Robert arrived in San Diego.... NEXT Winner of Abu Dhabi Red Bull Air Race 2009 Hannes Arch 2nd Paul Bonhomme 3rd Nicolas Ivanoff 1st Quali run was ok and the plane is working well. Yoshi is working on getting more consistent in the track. Team was very disapointed that luck and the rules worked against it when a deflating pylon forced the race controller to call Yoshi out of the track. Due to no fault of his own, Yoshi was unable to complete the second Quali run and thereby possibly improve his race day starting position. Abu Dhabi training day one. Two training flights were flown by all pilots today. Yoshi used the time to learn the course and get some good training in and managed to bring down 2 air gates! The adventure is about to begin. Yoshi, having obtained highly competitive Edge540 race plane, has had it stripped and repainted in a light gold color. The plane is ready to go and Yoshi will be practicing in the Kemble UK from the 16th to the 26th of March under coach Steve Jones. Shipment will then be direct to Abu Dhabi for the first race of Team MUROYA #31. ![]()
